The West Virginia association of the Deaf, (WVAD) an affiliate of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), the "oldest and largest constituency organization safeguarding the accessibility and civil rights of 28 million deaf and hard of hearing Americans in the areas of education, employment, health care, and telecommunications" (www.nad.org).   Every two years, the WVAD selects a new young lady to represent the state's Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.

The pageant is full of rich experiences as well as fun; it will provide you memories for a lifetime.   This opportunity is sure to open doors for you now and in the future.   It will enhance your skills in leadership, public speaking, and develop your personality, self confidence, and poise.  

Throughout the two year reign, Miss Deaf West Virginia travels throughout the state sharing her platform and/or talent.   Miss Deaf West Virginia is available to attend schools, meetings, presentations, and other varies activities.
